Holland Park

squirrelHolland Park is one of the smaller parks but prettier parks in Central London located near Kensington High Street.

What is there for toddlers?

There is a lot of wildlife to spot with your little one. There are squirrels, rabbits, foxes and resident peacocks that roam the park so keep your eyes open. The squirrels are really tame and will come very close almost begging for food. There is a wildlife pond to investigate, lots of different birds and apparently two species of bat. There’s woodland and open grassy areas, formal gardens and informal gardens. There is also a very good and well maintained play area for under eights.

If you’re local and have a baby under eighteen months there is a baby boot camp to help mothers get into shape. It involves pushing a pram around the park and doing exercises with other mums to keep fit. These classes are great for making friends and getting back your figure. Check out the website for more details.

Once you’ve let your little one run around you may enjoy having a look round the Kyoto Garden. This is a beautiful small Japanese garden which has a small waterfall that your toddler may also like to see. Then maybe settle down for a picnic in the park.

Food and drink
There is a cafe in the middle of the park that does food such as sandwiches, jacket potatoes and other snacks and drinks.
